Birthday Presents!

So today is my birthday and I've had a lovely day. I've eaten far too much, but who doesn't when they're celebrating? I posted not long since mentioning the concealed wedge sneakers (by the way, they are very comfy and dead easy to walk in, but I wore them to college and now I have blisters. Just don't wear them for really long periods of walking or if you have to walk up and down hills fast. That just a little word of advice if you get them) and so I decided to mention the other presents I got today!

Kaiser Chiefs Off With Their Heads Shirt:
So basically all I got was merch. It's my favourite thing to wear, because it means people can get to know me a little just by looking at me. It's the perfect conversation starter if you're a bit shy like I can be too. So I got two Kaiser Chiefs shirts because they're my favourite band and I just desperately needed more of their merchansdise.

My Price: £5

Kaiser Chiefs Drums Shirt:
This has to be my favourite out of all of my shirts. I wore this today and it's so comfy as well as being awesome. There's drumsticks and tour dates on the back, which I don't usually like, but this is dead cool. I wanted the women's version but they'd run out of them and this men's version was in Charcoal, whereas the women's was in Sky Blue. To be honest, blue doesn't look that great on me so I'm glad I got this version instead.

My Price: £5

Batman Shirt:
Is this or is this not the coolest Batman shirt you have ever seen? When I saw this, I totally had to have it. It's so cool! It really reminded me of 1960s Batman (the only Batman I really like) and it just looks totally crazy. I must say, the arm holes are massive and they flop around which really annoys me. Because it's a vest though, I use a bobby pin on each side to attatch it to my bra, and it works wonders! Try it if you ever have that problem.

My Price: £5
My Shop: Fashion Island (Again, I'm not entirely sure whether this shop is in every town, but you can probably find this vest, a dress and leggings in the same pattern in any shop that reminds you of those market stalls you get when you go to a seaside resort like Ingoldmills or Blackpool.)

I'm really pleased with my presents all in all. There's nothing better than loads more clothes and shoes if you ask me!

Halloween Looks: 1 - Leopard Eye

Halloween is fast approaching and no matter what your age, it's always an excuse to dress up and be a bit crazy. Last year I went trick or treating. This year I have a party to go to. So in preparation, I'm going to be trying and testing a couple of looks and tutorials from YouTube and showing you a few of my previous outfits too.

When I saw this tutorial, I instantly thought it'd be perfect for Halloween. You could easily go as Catwoman with this look or just generally a cat (or a leopard if you're being spontaneous). It'd also come in really handy for a fancy dress party of any kind. I personally walked around a lake and went shopping like this yesterday, but I pulled a few funny glances so I don't think I'll be doing that again.

So here's the tutorial I used:

And here's my attempt at it:

I did change from the tutorial a little and just used the solid gold colour from my MUA Poptastic Palette I reviewed earlier on this month. I also didn't apply false lashes and used your average liquid liner instead of a pen (mainly because my pen ran out not long since). If you do have a liner pen though, I recommend using that instead because it's so much easier to get precised spots and the smaller spots will be more possible too. I don't know about you, but I prefer the flick on the liner to create a cat eye, because duh... leopards are cats. A steady hand is needed too.

I genuinely really like this look though. I think you could easily get away with this out to a nightclub or to a concert and it'd go perfect with any leopard print item of clothing. I'm thinking tight clothes in either vinyl, PVC, leather or leather-look for a perfect Catwoman. It's a big thumbs up for Halloween!

New Shoes: Concealed Sneaker Wedges!

I am so pleased to announce the arrival of my new shoes earlier, in fact, I'm ecstatic! As soon as I saw a pair of these shoes in Internacionale, I fell in love with them. In that shop though, they only had beige and white ones, and they wouldn't go with any clothes I own so I went shopping online and found these beauties!

Dazzling aren't they? Not only are they just gorgeous, they have 3 inch wedges inside them, so you're instantly so much taller. You wouldn't expect them to be practical though, would you? However, I can honestly say they're now some of the comfiest shoes I own (along with my Converse) and I can genuinely run in them. There isn't even a chance of instability in them because of how thick the wedges is. The sole is practically the same as that of a normal trainer.

The brand is Truffle and I managed to snap these beauties up for around £30 Buy It Now off eBay including P&P. There are tons of sellers on there offering different colours for around the same price. There's also a low-top version as well as these high-tops, plus Jeffrey Cambell versions (see below right) if you can afford them, although I personally prefer these Truffle ones anyway. This is just a selection of them I found on eBay. There are other colours available. You could also pick them up in New Look or Internacionale if they're very big shops, but none of the shops in my town sell them.

...But these shoes are a birthday present, so now I have to wait until my birthday to wear them. I'm so impatient to wear them because they're so amazing. I know they're not to everyone's tastes, but keep looking at them for a while and you might warm up to them. If you like them, don't hesitate and go buy them. Plus, on the right hand side of my blog, there's a poll about these wedges. Let me know what you think!

Favourite Eyeshadow: MUA Cosmetics - Poptastic Palette

For years, I've been trying and testing different styles, colours and combinations of eye make-up, learning from tutorials off YouTube and improvising my own styles. I'll admit, I've been through some hideous stages of massively thick eyeliner, pitch black eyeshadow and Egyptian looking cat-eyes.

But recently, I found this new eyeshadow palette by MUA Cosmetics and I have literally been in love with it ever since. It's called the Poptastic Palette and the colours are extremely high pigment and don't fade or smudge during the day. The best feature about this though is unlike many other high pigment eyeshadows, you get all these colours for just £4! How can you possibly go wrong?

These looks are a mix between some of the blue colours in the palette. My word of advice would be to use one lighter colour from the inner corner to the centre of your eyelid, a darker colour from the center to the outer corner and blend. Also, blend a black eyeshadow into the crease of your eyelid to create the smoky effect and line the eye. These colours really do make your eyes pop! I've been told the blues make me look like a mermaid, and that everybody I know loves the bright colours. Just to throw it in there, bright blue eyeshadow has been a big look on the catwalks and is perfect for Winter.

The look on the right is a mix between the pinks and purples in the palette. A lot of people tell you not to wear full-on eyes with a bright lipstick, but if you're going out and want to make an impact, I think as long as your eyes and lips don't clash, then go for it!
For a lighter look, you could use one of the colours from the Poptastic Palette and a lighter eyeshadow you may already have to create a more subtle look like mine on the left. It's also very helpful for creating looks that match your clothing, and nothing compliments your outfit more than matching make-up!

There is nothing better than a splash of brightly coloured eyeshadow and you can experiment with colours like this to create something unique and beautiful. Just an extra tip: if you buy the MUA Costmetics Eyeshadow Prima for about £2, then your colours will be bolder and last longer. You'll dazzle everyone and your eyes will pop. For just £4, what have you got to lose?
